What is Terbicip 250mg (TERBINAFINE)?

First-line oral antifungal for onychomycosis (nail fungus) and tinea corporis/pedis/capitis. Highly effective against dermatophytes. Fungicidal (kills fungi rather than inhibiting growth).

How it Works

Inhibits fungal squalene epoxidase — blocks ergosterol synthesis early in the pathway. Squalene accumulates causing fungal membrane disruption and cell death.

Common Side Effects

GI upset, rash, taste disturbance (dysgeusia — can persist months after stopping), headache. Rare: hepatotoxicity, SJS, blood dyscrasias.
