What is Vesugen??

Vesugen (Lys-Glu-Asp, KED, molecular formula C15H26N4O8, MW 390.39 g/mol, PubChem CID 87571363) is a synthetic tripeptide bioregulator developed by Prof. Vladimir Khavinson at the St. Petersburg Institute of Bioregulation and Gerontology. Derived from vascular wall-associated proteins, Vesugen is investigated for its ability to interact with DNA minor grooves and promoter regions – modulating gene expression in endothelial cells and vascular smooth muscle. Key reported mechanisms include normalisation of endothelin-1 and connexin expression, restoration of eNOS gene activity, upregulation of SIRT1 (sirtuin-1), and reduction of Ki-67-driven senescent cell proliferation. It is classified as a Cytogen (synthetic short-peptide bioregulator) in the Khavinson bioregulator system.

Research Applications

Vascular Endothelial Gene Regulation

Endothelin-1 normalisation, connexin expression restoration, eNOS upregulation, ICAM-1/VCAM-1 adhesion molecule modulation

SIRT1 & Anti-Ageing Pathways

Sirtuin-1 upregulation, calorie-restriction-mimetic gene expression, SASP reduction in senescent endothelial cells

Atherosclerosis & Vascular Ageing

Endothelial dysfunction models, arterial stiffness, plaque formation studies – aged Wistar rat vascular experiments

Mesenchymal Stem Cell Research

MSC proliferation enhancement, senescence marker reduction, Ki-67 expression and cell differentiation control

Epigenetic & DNA Interaction

Peptide-DNA minor groove binding, histone complex interaction, promoter region modulation in vascular nuclei

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I reconstitute this peptide?
Add 1–2mL bacteriostatic water to the lyophilized vial by directing water down the inner wall of the vial. Swirl gently until the powder fully dissolves — do not shake or vortex. The solution should be clear and colourless. Use immediately or refrigerate at 2–8°C.
How should this peptide be stored?
Store lyophilized peptide vials at −20°C for long-term storage. Once reconstituted, store at 2–8°C (refrigerator) and use within 21–28 days. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles, direct light, and heat exposure.
What purity is this Vesta compound and how is it verified?
All Vesta compounds are tested to ≥99% purity by HPLC peak area analysis on every production batch. Molecular identity is confirmed by mass spectrometry. A Certificate of Analysis (COA) is published on the product page and independently verifiable at verify.janoshik.com using the batch reference number.
